Founded in 1956, this family-owned winery produces a range of award-winning premium boutique red and white wines, specialising in bottle-fermented “methode traditionelle” sparkling styles made from chardonnay and, more unusually, semillon, chenin blanc, shiraz and merlot; also specialising in exporting to Asia.
Winemaker Peter Garbin (son of founder Duje & Matija Garbin, Croatian immigrants) wife Katrina, and sons Joel and Adam have a philosophy of hands-on premium winemaking with personal service. Their fruit is sourced from Estate vineyards in Gingin and the Swan Valley, and grown with low chemical inputs and no pesticides. The Garbin’s also produce rich, traditional fortified styles for which the Valley is justly famous.
Watch out also for the Garbin Estate Verdelho always a Gold or Trophy winner, and their limited release Sangiovese available only from cellar door.
This charming winery is ideally located at the eastern end of the Swan Valley close to airports, restaurants and accommodation.
